The Rizzeria is collectively owned and operated by a bunch of self publishers and print makers in Sydney, Australia. One of our aims is to challenge and develop the aesthetic possibilities of stencil press printing…so we welcome your ambitious designs and adventurous printing ideas!
We are based in the front office space at Workshop Showroom, in the depths of St Peters, Sydney. It’s a cosy space set up for printing and collating, and with a great display of the printing that’s been done on the machine.
We are in the process of registering as co-operative. Simply put, this means that members own, control and use the Rizzeria (which includes the Riso printer and any other facilities we have available) – similar to established food co-ops (like Rizzeria member Alfalfa House) and housing co-ops. More information about co-operatives is available from the NSW Office of Fair Trading.
There is a key group of members who have been involved in the establishment of the Rizzeria, including building walls, paying bills, printing jobs, teaching workshops, buying supplies and generally enjoying the print experience.
There’s also a broader group of members who print on the Riso, and are occasionally involved in member activities.

Stencil printing
Stencil printing has a unique and beautiful quality.
It’s not screen printing or offset printing ~ it’s stencil printing and it prints with paints!
The Rizzeria has a Riso RP3700 which prints one colour at a time from a selection of nine spot colours.
We can print from digital files or off the glass to re-produce large quantities efficiently.
With the RP3700 we can print on many different paper stocks making the printing of small books, CD inserts, street posters, flyers and more completely possible.
